How to: SIMS 4 WEREWOLVES CHEATS

With the recent release of the Sims 4 Werewolves comes new gameplay, abilities, and build/buy items to the game. In true Sims 4 style, the expansion pack will allow cheat commands for players to race ahead of the gameplay if they wish. To get all the Sims 4 Werewolves cheat codes and build your wolf pack ahead of others, read on.

SIMS 4 WEREWOLVES: HOW TO ENTER CHEATS

On PS4 and Xbox console editions, to summon the cheat box you’ll have to press all four triggers at the same time.
For PC hold CTRL and Shift, then press C.
Mac is the same as PC except you hold Command and Shift, then press C.

Once the textbox appears at the top of the screen enter ‘testingcheats true’ to enable the use of cheats in the game. You can also use ‘testingcheats on’ for the same effect. Make sure the space layout and lower-case letters are used. Note that once you use cheats in a save file you’ll no longer be able to earn trophies or achievements on your chosen platform for that save file.

SIMS 4 WEREWOLVES CHEATS: TRAIT CHEATS

These are traits available to add specific buffs on your Sim depending on their friendship with other werewolves, if they come from a family of werewolves, or if they have completed any werewolf aspirations. These traits can be removed from your Sim by using the same cheat and replacing ‘equip’ with ‘remove’. For example, to remove the ‘Friend of the Widfangs’ trait the code would be:

SIMS 4 WEREWOLVES: WHO IS GREG?

In The Sims 4 Werewolves, Greg is a reclusive lone wolf who is hostile and unable to communicate with other sims. There is a lot of mystery surrounding where Greg came from, which has been spread further by The Sims 4 guru team. SIMS 4 WEREWOLVES: WHERE TO FIND GREG

Greg lives in a ramshackle trailer towards the west of the Moonwood Mill map. You can initially access this location by travelling west of the lakeside peak which has a boarded-up entrance. The peak can also be travelled to, this is where you’ll find Moonpetal flowers during a full moon.

You cannot interact or gain access to Greg’s trailer and Greg is never seen in sim form. However, if you interact with the warning signs on his property he usually spawns outside his door.

SIMS 4 WEREWOLVES: GREG LORE

Much of the speculation behind Greg’s origins were explored before the initial Sims 4 Werewolves release. Through item descriptions in the game, we can surmise that Greg is an incredibly ancient and powerful werewolf who was one of the original mooncasters. Mooncasters were magic users who transitioned into wolves to fight against vampires. Greg was once called Greggorius Lunvik, and was husband to the celebrated astrologer Avelina Lunvik, whose research into the lunar cycle greatly helped wolf-kind.

Through artefact descriptions, other information regarding Greg’s backstory can be found. From the artefact ‘Cowplant Taming Tablet’ we hear tell of a sim called Yina Kia who was a dear friend of Greg and Avelina’s and was killed by a moocaster’s cowplant. Moocasters were magic users who opted to breed cowplants for combat instead of becoming wolves.

Through his diary, Greg speaks a little more about how his friend’s death grievously affected him. From the ‘Tamed Cowplant Jawbone’ artefact, the words ‘avenge you’ are carved onto it, along with the unmistakable scent of Greg. Combined with the other artefact descriptions in the game, we can assume that the quest for vengeance led Greg down a dark path. Greg’s struggle with his fury ultimately lead to his inability to shift back into human sim form.

SIMS 4 WEREWOLVES: GREG’S DIARY

To find out more about Greg’s backstory in the game, it is possible to find his diary through artefact spots. Early in the werewolf ability tree, you will receive the option for enhanced smell and the ability to scavenge. Smell highlights points of interest on the ground, if you scavenge on these areas you’ll receive a randomised werewolf artefact, one of which is Greg’s diary.

For the ability to gain information from artefacts, you’ll also have to unlock the dormant werewolf ability, ‘Lunar Epiphany’. This can be unlocked by simply reading werewolf-related books and is a useful ability to pick up early on.

SIMS 4 WEREWOLVES: GREG’S HUMAN FORM

Through CAS cheats it is possible to edit and see Greg’s human form. He appears to be an older gentleman with a traditional dress sense. Considering he is said to have been one of the original mooncasters, this isn’t surprising.

To view Greg for yourself, enable cheats (CTRL + shift + C), press shift, and click on him in the game. You should have the option to edit in CAS as well as add him to your family if you wish.

SIMS 4 WEREWOLVES: WEREWOLF CREATE-A-SIM

Starting off easy, you can simply create a werewolf sim in CAS (Create-A-Sim) in the same way you can create another occult sim type. On the ‘new sim’ tab, click for a drop-down menu of occult options and click on the werewolf icon.

The CAS options for werewolves are surprisingly varied and follow the same colour palette that Sims 4: Cats and Dogs have. That being, you can create colour schemes and designs on the fur pelts and draw designs on them.

Whether you wish for your werewolves to have human clothes or wander around the full moon naturally, the CAS options are present.

SIMS 4 WEREWOLVES: HOW TO CONTRACT WEREBIES

Certain powerful werewolves have the ‘Cursed Bite’ ability, meaning they can pass on the werewolf curse onto your sim if bitten. You can ask to be bitten by a werewolf if you’re friends with them. Alternatively, you can get into a fight with a werewolf who has this perk, for a chance to be bitten with the curse.

Werebies, once contracted, will take a couple of days in the game to manifest into the werewolf curse. Werebies can be fought off by choosing interactions such as ‘Try to Sweat Werebies Out’ on a bed or ‘Try to Cleanse Self of Werebies’ in a shower.

Your sim will have negative emotes while undergoing this illness and will foam at the mouth until turned or cured. The hunger meter will also be impacted, with it seemingly impossible to keep your sim satiated whilst bitten.

You may also cure Werebies by asking Celene for a cure at the bar nearby.

SIMS 4 WEREWOLVES: WEREWOLF OFFSPRING

If two werewolf sims try for a baby, there is a good chance the offspring will also carry the lycanthrope curse which will fully present itself in teenhood. Curiously, as a child the offspring will have unique interactions such as ‘Practise Howling’ with their parents, to prepare them for upcoming wolfhood. As well as other interactions which may clue you in on their wolfy behaviour, such as biting toys and play fighting with other children.

Offspring do not always become werewolves however, they may be born with a dormant wolf trait which can only be activated if the sim swims in the lake in Moonwood Mill, under a full moon.

SIMS 4 WEREWOLVES: TUNNELS

Your sim can contract the curse from exploring underground tunnels. There is a random chance of encountering a rabid wolf during the rabbit-hole pop-ups, leaving your sim bitten or scratched. Your sim can enter the tunnels multiple times if you wish to contract the curse this way. There are three tunnels in total in Moonwood Mill, in the following locations:

Sparring Ground Porta Potties.
Sewers Gate.
Bunker Entrance.

SIMS 4 WEREWOLF ORIGINS IN THE FRANCHISE

From the original Sims: Makin’ Magic expansion pack in 2003, werewolves have been a permanent fixture in The Sims universe. Taking a step away from the Teen Wolf-like humanoid werewolves of Sims 3, The Sims 4 has introduced more animalistic versions of the wolves, like those featured in The Sims 2. The werewolves are still bipedal but have the option to drop on all fours when travelling on a rampage.

Rather than shifting into a werewolf in the traditional sense, the Sims: Makin’ Magic established werewolf curses as the result of a spell called the ‘Beauty or Beast’ charm in which Sims would take on a wolf-like appearance but without any of the animalistic behaviour as we’ve seen with the Sims 4 Werewolves.

The Sims 2: Pets was the first traditional iteration of werewolves in the franchise, with the lycanthrope curse being transmitted through a bite from the alpha wolf, only spotted during the night. As such, although the Sims 4 follows a closer resemblance to Sims 2 werewolves, they follow much of the same gameplay as displayed during the Sims 3 with the key ability to pass on the lupine trait to offspring.

Although werewolves in the Sims 3 can transform into their wolf-form at will, in the Sims 4 you’ll have to earn that perk through gameplay and by successfully transitioning without scaring nearby Sims.

From item descriptions of artefacts found in the game such as the ‘Tamed Cowplant Skull’, we know that werewolves in the Sims 4 originated as spellcasters called ‘mooncasters’ who turned themselves into wolves in response to threats from the vampire’s ‘Operation Eternal Flame’ scheme. Instead of being turned into vampires (via the scheme), they opted to harness the power of the moon instead. There is a sub-class of spellcasters called ‘moocasters’ who decided to reject both of these ideas and instead charmed cowplants to act as guards and battle companions, hinting that vampires and spellcasters have had a long-standing feud in the Sims universe, which led to the creation of werewolves.

SIMS 4 WEREWOLF LORE: WHO IS GREG?

Much of the mystery following the Sims 4 Werewolves expansion pack has centred around the reclusive, lone wolf Greg. Greg is an extremely hostile werewolf that prefers to be alone. Many fans have speculated on the reason for Greg’s avoidance of other wolves, with many musing on a possible Romeo and Juliet storyline of forbidden love.

There are two distinct packs in the expansion, one being the Moonwood Collective whose primary ambition is to be good ambassadors for werewolf kind and establish trust between themselves and human Sims. The other pack is the more rebellious Wildfangs who wish to be free to explore their lycanthrope personalities without the constriction of societal rules.

Through the Moonwood Collective aspiration, you have the responsibility to reach out to other Sims and establish werewolf allies. Through this, is it hinted that you may also have to bridge the peace between Greg and the other werewolves. This is no easy task however, upon approach Greg is usually hostile and rarely takes a sim form.

Greg is known to have the ‘Cursed Bite’ power to turn others into werewolves. He has been confirmed to have turned both Lux Demarco and Lou Howell, as such he has ‘despised’ relationships with most of the other neighbouring wolves. Greg has unique interactions with sims being able to ‘attempt to communicate’ with him before being able to introduce themselves and having the option to ‘share concerns about Greg’ to other werewolf sims.

Through further collectable descriptions in the game, Greg is revealed to be one of the first mooncasters who opted to change into a werewolf. His ability to push fury to the limit has impacted his temperament permanently.

SIMS 4 WEREWOLF LORE: WHO IS AVELINA?

Avelina Lunvik is also a character shrouded in mystery amongst the Sims 4 gurus. As always, lore is often hidden through item descriptions during the build and buy screen. Whilst viewing ‘Avelina’s Trusty Telescope’ it is confirmed that Avelina was once Greg’s wife and perhaps the reason for his unbridled rage. It is also confirmed that Avelina was also a werewolf and used her heightened senses to establish herself as a successful astrologer. Links with the Sims 4 aliens are seen here as she is said to have discovered Sixam first, the planet from which aliens originate from in the Sims 4 (first introduced in the Sims 4: Get to Work pack). Greg’s full name is revealed as Greggorius, who comes from a line of werewolves with his mother, Pernilla Lunvik, also suffering from the curse and perhaps contributing to Greg’s established power amongst the other wolves.

SIMS 4 FUTURE SUPERNATURAL PACKS

Although previous instalments of the Sims have grouped supernatural races, The Sims 4 is following suit of crafting a game pack around one occult race at a time. Following the success of the spellcaster’s pack, the Sims 4 Werewolves operates similar ability points and levelling up systems.

The Sims team have not ruled out a ‘future’ or ‘zombie’ pack, exciting news for fans still eagerly anticipating fairies as a playable race.

There are current fairy mods out there for fans unable to wait for an official release. Although the Sims supports the use of mods, they may break certain gameplay mechanics, so use them with caution.

SIMS 4 WEREWOLF RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER OCCULT SIMS

If you have Sims 4 Vampires also installed, chances are you’ll witness their disdain for werewolf sims. The Occult sims introduced through the game so far have been vampires, aliens, mermaids, spellcasters and werewolves. All occult sims have connecting lore that can be found through lore books in The Sims world or through item descriptions.

One such item added to the new pack has been a painting of iconic vampire Vladislaus Straud, with a werewolf claw mark running through it. This item is tied to the backstory of the sim, Celene López who first became curious about the feud between both races whilst viewing the painting.

Celene coincidentally found the cure for Werebies (contracted from a werewolf bite), so if you wish to cure your sim of the curse without cheats, visit Celene at the local bar.

SIMS 4 WEREWOLF LORE BOOKS AND COLLECTIBLES

By unlocking ‘Lunar Epiphany’ (a dormant werewolf ability) you can decipher werewolf secrets from books and artefacts to reveal more lore surrounding the occult species. You can also unlock more lore by adventuring through the tunnels and deciphering the glyphs found in the Underground. To find books and artefacts in the wild, use your wolf’s enhanced smell to scavenge. Buried items will appear as a green mist on the ground to indicate the areas you’ll want to dig.

A lore book available to read is a diary, hinted at revealing further information on Greg’s backstory. The other werewolf books available with the new game pack are as follows:
